Introduction

TanSweep is built by independent developers for the community. We value your privacy and security above all else. This policy outlines how we handle your Gmail data and our commitment to Google's Limited Use requirements.

The Gmail Data Promise

We do NOT store your emails. Content is processed in memory and purged immediately.
Zero Training. Your data is never used to train LLMs or AI models.
Limited Use. We only access what is necessary to categorize and clean your inbox.

Data Protection & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser, our servers, and Google APIs is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
OAuth Security: We never see or store your Google password. Access is managed through secure OAuth tokens which can be revoked at any time.
Environment Isolation: Our processing environment is isolated, ensuring that email snippets used for organization are never logged or exposed to external systems.

Google Scopes & Usage

We request the following permissions via Google OAuth to provide our services:

gmail.modify

Used to read snippets for organization and move unwanted mail to the trash.

gmail.settings.basic

Used to create permanent filters for senders you choose to sweep permanently.

Data Retention & Deletion

We believe in data minimization and only keep what is necessary to operate the service:

Email Content: Zero retention. Content is purged from memory immediately after processing.
Account Data: We store your email address and usage counts. This data is retained as long as your account is active.
User-Requested Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing Support. We will process these requests within 30 days.
Automatic Deletion: Accounts that have been inactive for more than 12 months may be queued for automatic deletion.
